A rally to save the bees

From 9th to 16th September 2017 a unique Fiat 126p iconic rally will be organized for the great purpose of saving the bees

The rally will be throughout the whole of Poland, from Cracow to Koszalin. Many well-known personalities from the beekeeping world will take part in the event. The main goal of the rally is to present the increasingly difficult situation in beekeeping and promote pro-ecological attitudes that can improve the life of bees, and thus people. Each of the stops along the route will be full of events promoting local beekeepers and reveal the secrets and problems of beekeeping.

rajd2_smSądecki Bartnik is also on the route, where the rally will arrive on the first day, i.e. 9th September. Beekeepers and beekeeping organizations have been warning for several years that the situation of Polish apiaries is getting more and more difficult and there is less and less honey. This is due to exceptionally numerous collapses of bee colonies after the winter of 2016/2017, insufficiently effective drugs to combat bees diseases and the lack of proper protection of beekeeping on the part of the authorities. Therefore, the rally will also go through Warsaw directly to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and our parliament, where it will appeal for support. According to the organizers, each of us can be involved in helping bees.

For thousands of years, man has been using the work of bees. Honey, propolis, pollen or beeswax is the result of bees work. The pollination of plants is the greatest job a bee carries out for a man and the whole ecosystem. Therefore, it is worth creating a friendly space by planting trees and melliferous plants - emphasizes Janusz Kasztelewicz, the president of Sądecki Bartnik.

On 9th September in Stróże, the organizers will encourage planting and sowing melliferous plants in gardens, on balconies and terraces . There will be many wise advises given on how to organize a pollinating insect-friendly space, including bees, and one will receive free seed samples. Apart from planting other melliferous trees at Bartnik there will be many promotions waiting for visitors on this day. Our beekeeping farm could not be missing on the route of the rally. It is a special place for beekeepers and bees enthusiasts.

Sądecki Bartnik is a model of economy and diligence on an international scale, at the same time caring for the preservation of tradition and history of Polish beekeeping. We hope that while in Stróże we will be able to convey the main message of the rally: "Bees will survive when they pollinate flowers ", "Buy honey – save the bees" and "STOP pesticides". By announcing these slogans, we intend to draw attention to the current problems of beekeeping and possible ways of solving them, and with our joint action we would like to show a positive image of the beekeepers' environment. We are convinced that a positive message that will accompany us can achieve high efficiency with minimal financial outlay - emphasizes Piotr Mrówka, initiator of the action and the president of the Association of Professional Beekeepers. As part of the rally, a trip to Nawojowa and participation in an outdoor trade fair “Agropromocja” is planned. The honorary patronage over the rally was taken by the Minister of the Environment, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development - Krzysztof Jurgiel, TVP3 Cracow, Radio Cracow and Dziennik Polski exercise media patronage.
