Heather honey form Lower Silesian woodlands is the third product, after oscypek (smoked cheese made of salted sheep milk) and bryndza (sheep milk cheese registered by the EU. Its producers are entitled to use the EU emblem of Protected Geographical Indication. Heather honey from Lower Silesian wildwoods had been included in “The List of Traditional Products” on 28th of September 2005.
Honey meads: “połtorak”, “dwojniak”, “trojniak” i “czworniak” are the first Polish products to be registered by the European Commission as the traditional goods and they have been qualified for Traditional Specialty Guaranteed indicator.
The names of these excellent Polish meads were entered into the Traditional Specialty Guaranteed register on 18th of August 2009.
