The candidates have been chosen by people of Nowy Sacz district who sent their suggestions to Zwiazek Sadeczan (the Association of Nowy Sacz People), the main organizer of the plebiscite. The Association is aided in its endeavours by the President of Nowy Sacz, the Prefect of Tarnow district and by the "SOKOL" Society in Nowy Sacz.

Special plebiscite tickets are being printed in "Gazeta Krakowska" from 16th to 28th of January. The readers can fill them out and in this way vote for people or companies that, in their opinion, deserve to be awarded.

After counting the votes, Committee of "Ziarnko Gorczycy" will announce the nominees of this twelfth plebiscite edition  and the verdict will be declared on the 4th of February at the final gala in MCK Sokol.

The organizers emphasize that "... nominees for "Ziarnko Gorczycy" are engaged in various charity campaigns and they help needing people without any hidden agendas. They do this not for the acclamation or marketing purposes and they are nominated solely to show the gratitude of people and institutions that received their help and support".

This year, the candidates for person category are Stanislaw Kogut, Adam Pasiut, Wincenty Zygadlo, Jozef Pyzik, Bogdan Popiela and Ryszard Konstanty.

In category of companies and associations the nominees include "Nowosadecka Wspolnota” Society, confectionery "Grzes", the gastronomic company "Raj", concrete producer "Mezyk", dairy "Dominik", the Beekeeping Farm "Sadecki Bartnik", the Association of Family and Friends of Disabled Children "Nadzieja", multibranch company "Tlocznia Maurer" and the company of "Trans-Blach".
