"It is safe to say that these people are the elite of food industry. Thanks to their products the brand of Polish food has been built. We possess outstanding raw materials, proven recipes and our manufacturing plants can be considered as one of the leading in the world", said the minister and added that all these elements enable us to achieve success in the area of international trade.
As usual the producers could enter the program in 15 categories. A special Science Committee had chosen 162 products to be honoured by the PDZ emblem. They included dairy products, cold meats, honey, fruit and beverages.
The minister, while giving the certificates to 45 producers, stressed the importance of this distinction not only to the companies employers and employees but also to the regular consumers.
Since that event another variety of confirmed quality and taste products has been privileged to use PDZ emblem. "It is inspiring to see the diversity of these food products and the ever growing number of emblem's receivers", admitted Stanislaw Kalemba.
The "Sadecki Bartnik" Beekeeping Farm has been awarded with the PDZ emblems for mixed-flower honey, linden honey, acacia honey and buckwheat honey.
The Gala was an ideal occasion to emphasize the plenitude of quality food and, incidentally, Polish culture, tradition and folklore. The event was accompanied by a folk group "Lany" and a lyrical concert by Justyna Szafran.
The PDZ Program is an initiative, implemented by the Minister of Agriculture, that aims at informing the consumers about the available quality food products. The PDZ emblem granted only for three years is the guarantee of the highest quality products and the raw materials they were made from.
