Beevital HiveClean

A few facts:

Beevital HiveClean is a remarkably effective preparation that stays active for a period of time between 6 and 10 day after the application and its insecticide efficacy exceeds 85%. It is used in many European countries.

HiveClean does not show any negative impact on the brood, adult bees and the queen. It does not develop the immunity among parasites. Even an accidental overdose does not pose any threat to the bee family.

HiveClean is easy to use and it does not involve a complicated application procedure or any special protective means. What is more, it supports the process of overcoming other parasitical diseases, as well as, mycosis.

Composition:
Apart from such natural ingredients as propolis and essential oils, HiveClean also contains citric acid, oxalic acid and formic acid. All those substances are included in the sugar solution.

Form:
HiveClean is a solution that is available in a variety of packaging, including a 500ml plastic bottle, a 15ml foil sachet or a 1l can ( a 5l can is recommended for beekeepers that have 100 bee families and can apply the preparation with a feeder). There are also attached to the product paper sheets covered with the preparation especially useful for mites that fall on to a floorboard.

Application:
The preparation should be applied at the end of summer when the first wintering bees appear and also in the late autumn or winter when there is no brood.

More detailed information about the problem with Varroa destructor and about the preparation itself can be found in a brochure "Hive Clean to fight off Varroa destructor" issued by "Sadecki Bartnik". The author of the essay is dr Grzegorz Dobre - the President of the Federation of Romanian Beekeepers. The brochure can be also downloaded as a pdf file here (Polish version) .
