Awards for the preservation of cultural heritage

 

On 9th of November 2012 in the Ethnographic Museum in Krakow, the Award in the name of Prof. Roman Reinfuss was granted for the first time. It is given in recognition of preserving and protecting local cultural identity in Malopolska.
The person awarded for the whole work of preserving the local heritage was Aleksandra Szurmiak-Bogucka an ethnomusicologist, an expert and an advocate of folk Carpathian culture, a researcher and an archivist of musical folklore. Jadwiga Duda, organizing monthly meetings about Wieliczka since 1998, has been rewarded for popularization of knowledge concerning the values of local cultural heritage.

It is also our pleasure to inform you that one of the commended people (apart from Urszula Janicka-Krzywda and Tadeusz Pabis) was Franciszek Palka, a folk artist and a cultural animator who continuously has been decorating the area of Sadecki Batnik with his original artistic visions and projects.

We would like to congratulate all the nominees, particularly Franciszek Palka.
