29th “Apimondia” – Dublin 2005

The ApiExpo exhibition lasted five days and a large nubmber of representatives from all over the world participated in it. The variety of exhibitions and the creativity its owners were the main features of the exhibition that were appreciated. Poland was represented by three companies: "Sadecki Bartnik", "Adamek" and "Lyson". The exhibition of "Sadecki Bartnik" was arranged with the special attention drawn to honey mead, another superb product of the firm. Apart from that, "Sadecki Bartnik" included in its exhibition a device used to cream honey, which was produced the Repair and Installation Plant from Gdansk designed by Leszek Pekala and Slawomir Bakiera.

In the additional hall another exhibition was organized. It was called International Apimondia Village and where mainly Irish beekeepres could present their products such as honey, meads and beekeeping souvenirs. The exhibition and sessions of the Congress were completed by the extremely rich and diverse entertainment program. It was prepared with exceptional precision and diligence. It included the Irish Evening which as it turned out was widely attended

The Congress was also accompanied by the presentation of the latest technologies if field of beekeeping. Long before the Congress, the scientist from around the globe put forward their work and a special commission decides which of them will be presented at the main sessions. There were many Polish representatives of Poland, among others Dr Helena Rybak-Chmielewska, Dr Teresa Szczesna, Dr Krystyna Pohorecka from Pulawy, Dr. Wladyslaw Huszcza z Lublina and Prof. Piotr Przybylowski from Gdynia. Dr Pohorecka delivered a lecture about methods of detecting Paenibacillus larvae subsp. larvae by testing samples and adult bee specimens.
