Modernity of the 21st century

In one place, there is a bottling and packaging plants, breeding and quality research laboratories and a warehouse for material, packaging and ready-made products.

This modern facility, built with the financial assistance of the EU, cost 6 mnl zl. And it is already capable of processing (bottling and packaging) 1500 tons of honey per year.


Many prominent guest came to the ceremonial opening of the facility. Among them were Jacek Parszewski -Ministry of Agriculture, Witold Kozlowski - Vice-chairman of the Malopolska Regional Council, Antoni Poreba - Chairman of Grybow Town Council, Zbigniew Pecak - Chairman of the Professional Beekeepers Association, members of ARiMR ( the Agency of Restructuring and Modernizing Agriculture), bankers, designers and executives of the investment, business partners and associates of 'Sadecki Bartnik' from Poland and from other countries and last but not least a few-dozen crew of the company for whom the new complex from now on provided comfortable work place.


On welcoming the invited guests, Janusz Kasztelewicz presented the to date achievements of 'Sadecki Bartnik' and pointed out that currently the company, established in 1973, is the biggest in Poland in the beekeeping industry. Almost 30% of honey available on Polish market comes from Stroze.
Apiaries, which are located in the ecologically pristine area of Pogorze and Beskid Sadecki, consists of over beehives. It is the place where a variety of honey is obtained, including delicate spring honey, precious linden honey, honeydew and single flower honey. Here are also produced other honey products, such as flower pollen, beeswax, propolis, bee milk and beebread.

Invitation for the opening ceremony received also Helena and Wladyslaw Kmak - the residents of Stroze. They gave up their right to the land cultivated by their family from generation to enable the development and expansion of 'Sądecki Bartnik', demonstrating their understanding and good will. Janusz Kasztelewicz publicly thanked Mr. Kmak and the assembly followed with the applause.


Jacek Parszewski (MP3) from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development addressed Anna and Janusz Kasztelewicz to congratulate them on the opening of the new facility. In particular, he expressed his recognition for their accomplishments while managing 'Sadecki Bartnik' with the special emphasis on their initiatives of promoting the beekeeping branch and popularizing beekeeping traditions.


Witold Kozlowski (MP3) - Vice-chairman of the Maloplska Regional Council congratulated them not only on the new complex, but even most importantly on the exemplary conducted procedures aiming at acquiring the financial subsides from the European Union. He drew attention to the diligence and consistency exhibited by Janusz and Anna Kasztelewicz while realizing their ideas, plans and projects concerning the development of their beekeeping farm. He stressed that the owners of 'Sadecki Bartnik' like no one else are able to combine knowledge, experience and ever-lasting love for bees with the passion of working.


Jan Golonka (MP3) - Nowosądecki District Governor pointed out that Anna and Janusz Kasztelewicz are the example to be followed when it comes to the activity in the agricultural sector, and at the same time they have became widely known and highly valued propagators of beekeeping. They organize conferences and training and their publishing house, founded 10 years ago, prepares not only books and albums about beekeeping but also instructional and educational films. In addition, they possess the rare ability to share their knowledge and passion, frequently enthusing others with their true beekeeping passion.


On behalf of the local government , Antoni Poreba expressed the acknowledgements and emphasized the exceptional economic function of 'Sadecki Bartnik' , which being the biggest employment provider in the region, became also a tourist destination that attracts annually a vast number of visitors from even the most remote places of the world. 

The first to cut the ribbon was Janusz Kasztelewicz who was followed by the invited official guests. And the ceremony was completed by the employees of 'Sadecki Bartnik' with the longest seniority - Danuta Jurkiewicz and Mieczyslaw Kot.


Professor Father Daniel Olszewski performed the act of consecration of the building and all the workstations.


The toast with the goblets of honey mead was proposed for the prosperity of the new facility.

The guests had the opportunity to visit the laboratories...


... the warehouse for the material and ready-made products....


     .......and the hall with bottling and packaging lines.

The visitors with genuine interest watched the bottling lines, paying special attention to its modernity, efficiency and work organization. However, the most striking was the sterility of the production processes that are in accordance with all food safety requirements mandatory to fulfill in the European Union.


This is what Janusz Kasztelewicz said about 'Sadecki Bartnik”  (MP3). Here are also some comments made by the Chairman of Professional Beekeepers Association - Zbigniew Pecak - (MP3), concerning the work of Anna and Janusz Kasztelewicz.


All the guests were received in the full of warmth and honey scent charming restaurant 'Bartna Chata'. It was the time for the more casual conversations that concerned the next meeting in 'Sadecki Bartnik' - that is about the annual 'Biesiada u Bartnika' which was to be held, as usual, at the first weekend of July.
