Outdoor sculptor's workshop 2008
Whirr of of power saws and clatter of hammers banging on chisels - those were the soundsthat could be heard in the whole area of the beekeeping farm in Stroze. Sculptors from all over Poland, Slovakia and Ukraine came to take part in the second outdoor sculptoral workshop. They spent ten days carving figural beehives that nowadays virtually on one carves.

The tradition of breeding bees goes back to the pre-Slavic times and its beginnings are confirmed by Greek historian Herodot, who lived in 5th century B.C.. Other chroniclers like Ibrahim ibn Jakub , Thitmar and Gall Anonim also wrote about Slavonic beekeeping when Polish structures of statehood started to emerge. The most valuable relic of Polish beekeeping is a thousand year old hive log that was recovered from Odra river in 1901 and now can be found in Kluczbork museum.

Days of Malopolska Cultural Heritage

It was already the 6th time when the region of Malopolska welcomed the tourists from over the country to discover and rediscover its cultural treasure. Days of Malopolska Cultural Heritage lasted from 5th to 6th of June 2004 and gave everyone interested the chance to visit a range of 13 historic buildings, including churches, synagogues, public institutions and private residences. The Beekeeping Museum of "Sadecki Bartnik" also opened its doors for visitors to reveal them all the secrets of bees world.
