"PDZ" award for coniferous honeydew

At the prestigious gala that was held in Warszawa on the 16th of December 2010, thirty five representatives of Polish food industry companies were granted by Marek Sawicki, the Minister of Agriculture, the certification marks "Poznaj Dobra Zywnosc".

Among the awarded products, there was also the coniferous honeydew honey produced by the Beekeeping Farm "Sadecki Bartnik". The certificate was received by Janusz Kasztelewicz.
pdz_spadz_smConiferous honeydew honey was awarded with the "PDZ" certificate for the second time in a row and therefore the validity of the quality certification lasts not three but five years till September 2015.
Quick reminder: coniferous honeydew honey crystallizes slowly taking on lumpy texture. It has got spicy aroma with flavour slightly less sweet than other honeys.
Honeydew manifests a number of properties, for instance, antiphlogistique, antiseptic and apophlegmatic. It also shows the property of an antibiotic. It contains more active ingredients, including iron, than any nectar honey.
Its applications are numerous. It is used especially in prevention of the respiratory system ailments and in case of lowered system immunity. Honeydew honey helps in treating rheumatic, skin and neural system diseases.

The Scientific Committee of the "PDZ" Programme, consisting of professors and doctors specializing in such areas as nutrition, growing crops and breeding animals, were to evaluate the quality of the products taken into consideration This year, the certificates were granted in seven distinct categories: dairy products, meat products, deep-frozen foods, fruit and vegetable products, bakery and confectionery products, chocolate products, honey, alcohole.

In relation to the origins of the PZD Programme, the minister stated that this year edition was to some extant 'a round anniversary'. The name of Poznaj Dobra Zywnosc (Meet the Quality Food) has been used for seven years so far, however, the programme started exactly ten years ago under the name of Polska Dobra Zywnosc (Polish Quality Food).

The minister not only wished everyone more successes but also added: "It is not necessary talk excessively about the quality and good taste of Polish food as it is already widely known".

The Poznaj Dobra Zywnosc Programme is intended for consumers while the producers participate in it voluntarily. It is considered as the international ennoblement for the product and its producer to be awarded with the PDZ certification mark depicting the highest quality standards. It is also an opportunity for a more successful promotional campaign in Poland and abroad, as well.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development do not cease in its efforts to promote the quality Polish food among the widest audience possible. A countless number of people is currently engaged in numerous promotional campaigns. They are the main source of information about Polish products of the highest quality.  pdz_gala_2sm

It is our pleasure to inform that the minister Marek Sawicki expressed his special thanks to Małgorzata Puzio - an actress and a culinary author, Magda Gessler - a renown Polish restaurant-keeper who starrs in the culinary programme called "Kuchenne rewolucje" (Culinary Revolutions) and Karol Okrasa - a head chef running the TV programme "Kuchna z Okrasa" (Kitchen with Okrasa) who visited "Sadecki Bartnik" in 2009 to prepare a delicious dish with honey as main ingredient.

What 's more, in the last years other four honeys from the Beekeeping Farm "Sadecki Bartnik" were also awarded with the PDZ certification mark. These include mixed flower honey, acacia honey, linden honey and rapeseed honey, all of which are entitled to use the PDZ logo until the 25th of March 2012.

Since 2004 the PDZ certification mark has been granted to 1110 Polish food products from 86 different companies.
