18th Biesiada at Bartnik 4th-5th of July 2009

Again, the Beekeeping Farm "Sadecki Bartnik" was the meeting place of beekeepers, honey lovers and those who simply wanted to have fun. As it turned out, also the weather was on the side of the true merry makers.

This year edition, just like the previous one, was under the patronage of Marek Sawcki - the minister of Agriculture and Rural Development. The event began on Saturday with the beekeeping conference entitled "Innovation in agriculture and the quality of bee products".

All participants of the conference with most avid interest and attention listened to the lecturers, who included Denis Watson from New Zealand talking about Manuka honey and Tatiana Baranowska from Baszkiria (Russia) elaborating on forest honey in her homeland. Apart from Polish beekeepers, there were present guests from Germany, New Zealand, Belarus, Baszkiria (Russia), Ukraine, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
The Biesiada was not only an opportunity to admire a variety of artistic performances but also it was an occasion to take part in the promotion of a unique trilogy "Slowa miodem pisane” (Words written with honey) by Jerzy Gnerowicz. Those who came could also purchase specialized literature and beekeeping equipment.
Other events that accompanied the Biesiada was the National Photo Contest "Bee and its environment" and the two outdoor workshops: sculptural "St. Ambrose the holy patron of beekeepers" and caricature "The caricature of a bee"
