17th Biesiada u Bartnika July 2008 (part 1)

The Beekeeping Farm 'Sadecki Bartnik', Carpathian Beekeeping Association and the Municipal Council of Grybów invited professional and amateur beekeepers, as well as all honey lovers for the annual beekeeping picnic in Stroze, traditionally held in July.
The picnic was inaugurated with the beekeeping conference entitled 'The causes and effects of Honey Bee Colony Collapse Disorder'. Over 300 beekeepers from all around of Poland, as well as Czech, Belarus, Slovakia and Ukraine came to listen to the presented reports

The conference was opened by Janusz Kasztelewicz and it was led by Dr Zbigniew Lipinski.



Dr Krystyna Pohorecka (MP 3)

presented her paper on ' The analysis of factors causing Honey Bee Colony Collapse'.



Dr Sylwia Kasprzak (MP 3)

delivered a speech about 'Viruses and Nosema pis in the context of Varroa destructor' and prof. dr ha Władysław Huszcza (MP 3)

talked about current issue of the bees endangerment with pesticides.




The lecture of Dr. Zbigniewa Lipińskiego (MP 3)

concerned the current issue of bees endangerment with pesticides.Jack Thomas ( MP 3),
 

from Mann Lake Ltd. in the USA presented the topic of 'Current problems of American Beekeeping'.

All the participants of the conference were provided with the special brochure, containing the delivered lectures. There were also the opportunity to purchase materials from the previous conferences at 'Sadecki Bartnik'. Like every year, the conference and 'Biesiada u Bartnika' were accompanied by a popular as usual fair of beekeeping equipment, breeding material and specialized literature.
