This year the main attraction of the picnic was, without doubt, the open-air sculpture workshop, which resulted in creation of ten enormous tree-trunk figures depicting St. Ambrose, the patron of beekeepers. Each Biesiada u Bartnika is an exceptional display of beekeeping heritage combined with scientific conferences, lectures presented by experts along with fairs of beekeeping equipment and specialized literature. However, among this all, it is the annual family holiday of beekeepers.
That is why, Biesiada u Bartnika year after year is becoming more and more popular even abroad. Nowadays, the beekeepers from Malopolska region are joined by Polish and world's elite of beekeeping industry.
The versatility of 'Sadecki Bartnik' is widely appreciated, also abroad. It is even confirmed by the world specialists such as Dr Gudrun Beckh from International Quality Institute of Bremen (MP3).
At Biesiada u Bartnika Anna and Janusz Kasztelewicz grant awards for the special services to Polish beekeeping. In 2007, the distinction went to Jerzy Zak (MP3), who is the author of the album 'Ule i Pasieki w Polsce'.
One of the regural guests of Besiada u Bartnika is a famous Polish farmacologist from Collegium Medicum of Jagielonski University Prof. Ryszard Czarnecki (MP3).
Biesiada u Bartnika is a true international event. Apart from exhibitors and salers from Poland they are also foreigners like Zdenka Koppovej from Chech Olomuniec (MP3).
At biesiada u Bartnika one has the opportunity to take part in honey harvesting, honey tasting and craftsmanship fairs.
Biesiada u Bartnika every times gives its participants a unique opportunity to take part in honey harvest shows, honey tasting and artistic and folk craftsmanship fairs. Always diverse program makes it possible to learn, exchange experience and to meet with other beekeepers, all that while shopping, visiting the farm and admiring the Beekeeping Museum. And eventually, before the end of the picnic, there is the time to unwind through listening to the concerts, cabaret performances and dancing to the riveting music.
